earlier this year, as some of you may know, I laid my mother to rest after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. Now my father has been in a VA hospital since November the 16th. He went in for a resection of his intestine, or an ostomy reversal, to remove an ostomy bag he's been wearing for nine years. Infection has set in and he has contracted pnuemonia. The infection could lead to toxic shock syndrome and the possibility of death is not out of the question. You guys know what to do and all is appreciated. thanks, Mike
 
Will do....sending prayers for your Dad that the meds will cure the infection, and for his strength and yours too.

Prayers to your Dad and your family! What kind of a mood has he been in lately? I hope he is trying to keep it upbeat!
 
thanks guys. I just got home from the hospital and they have removed a central port that they have been using to administer meds for the entire time he's been in there and they are testing it to see if it is the cause of the infection,he's on breathing treatments every four hours and seems to be resting well.
 
It's Sunday morning and he has been transferred into acute care. We're still waiting on some blood cultures to see if the bacterial infection has settled on the aortic valve in his heart. Please keep the prayers coming,all are very appreciated. Thanks, Mike
