With the current price of land where i live.Who can afford to pay for it in this economy? Then thats the 400 t0 1500 acre tracts at that.Plain crazy a million to over 2 million for a nice size farm or ranch.Guess it's who wants to be a millionare, everyone now days.I am just a small farmer with 64 acres in 2 farms.Always been my dream to own 600 acres.Just as hard to buy land now as it was in the 1800's.Nearly impossible unless your wealthy or win the Lotto.Or by the grace of God suddenly come into wealth.Thats the way it always is being an American Farmer.Trying to raise cows and race cars.

Getting cheaper up here. I was at an estate auction up here, Farm house on 56 acres with 3 bildings went for 117,000. Ane a second parcel of 80 acers went for 27,000. Just payed off the house so we were cash straped, or I would have been all over the 80 acers.

Ours runs $5,000-7,000/acre here in Iowa. Of course the fertile tillable acres are the highest. If you don't inherit land it is next to impossible to start farming.

Down here, it averages $20 to $50 Thousand an acre, and that's undeveloped......larger tracts are probably cheaper in some areas.

I LONG for the days of '5 grand per' real estate.

Up here you can still get clearcut land for about $150 an acre. Not the best for traditional farming but if you want to farm trees it's perfect.

They are almost givin it away in west Texas.

10000 to 15000 per acre out this way. Depending in which area.
We operate 150 acres with dairy farm that has been in the family name for 126 years.

Wish to have another 100 acres to farm. We also live on the fluctuating stock price that the market runs. Apparently in the U.S. there is government help with the stock prices. With $6 corn and hitting 225 bu/acre its been fairly good times.

Average 20,000.00 for a building lot (1/2 Acre) here. I guess some folks haven't figured out the economy has gone south.

There is a piece not too far from me 196 acres and a house and large barn, just under a million.

if your paying 4-5 large for prime land, then count me in!!!! Around here 8-10 for prime agra!
Outskirts, 7-8, semi prime.
Outer outskirts, 5-6.

Lands a *****, but still a great investment. Dirt does nor go bad! (in most cases, lol)
