Proper Decal Location

1971 Duster. Plain Jane, standard Duster. Not Gold, not Twister, not 340. Where is the proper location for the rear decal? Is it on the deck lid, or on the tail light panel?

Tail light panel. Closer to passenger side.

Thanks for the info. I have yet to see another, like mine, with the decal on the deck lid. There is obvious mud and evidence of respray on the tail panel.

I have heard of that same claim of decal location on the trunk lid on some of them in the past. It may in fact be true. IDK. Personally never seen it myself. Until now, of course
