My dad passed away last Thursday, he & my son are very close. It didn't matter what time we finished racing, he always wanted the update phoned to him.
We had planned to race Saturday at The MOPARS AT THE MOTORPLEX, but we put it on hold.
We did race Sunday at our local track in Tulsa. It happen to be a race for the "WALLY" trophey.
This is the National Dragster Challenge the winner of No-E & Super Pro receives a Wally trophey.
My son has always said that he would trade his 5 championships for a Wally trophey.
After 6 rounds of racing, he finally won his Wally!
There wasn't a dry eye in the place, everyone was pulling for him to win. Fellow racers lined up to congratulate him as he returned to the pits, it was like something out of the movies.
He told me he wished he could call his Grand Pa, but I told him that he already knows the results.
What a week.
