Quick question....my buddies say 2 types of power steering units were available in 1968 for my 1968 Dodge Dart SL-6. One was Saginaw, what was the other type/manufacturer? I don't have a Saginaw. Is it Kesley-Hayes? Filler caps are the same they say but hardware (brackets) are different and hoses must be from exact manufacturer. Question is asked more for curiosity. Thx....Darts forever!!!!!

Murray is right. My 67 had a Federal pump. I swapped to a Saginaw because the Federal couldn't keep up with steering input on twisty roads. Also because I bent the pulley and nobody has replacement pulleys for Federal. The swap requires a different bracket, sourced from a later year that used the Saginaw pump (I think mine came from a 74). But I believe the TRW and Federal use the same hardware all around — just different suppliers.

While TRW and Federal pumps look similar, the brackets are different. Just a heads-up so you end up with the correct matching parts.
