I had just bought a rebuilt 383 and trans that came out of a 69 barracuda. I found out I cant use the trans with it being a push button. I know they are rare and valuable, but how much could I sell it for?

Newer slip yoke style? They are more desirable. I was told anywhere from $300 to $500 for the one I have. If I ever sell who knows if I'll even get a $300 offer for it.

Every SB push button one I've ever owned sold real quick. Last one I owned came out of a 62 Dodge Dart 440. Sold it for 300.00. I would put a price of 500.00 OBO. and see what you get.

I assume that it wasnt original to the 69..... last year for cable shift transmissions was 65. Also 65 is the only year of cable shift with slip yoke and rear pump. These are the desireable ones, particularly big block ones. 64 and prior are a flange output and are not particularly desireable.

Last one I had was a working 65 big block slip yoke and got 500 for it in a hurry at Carlisle.

So where do you get off selling it for $2500 after most of the post here recommend $500 and you only paid $1500 for the engine & trans together???

Just because you got ripped off, doesn't mean you need to pass it along to someone else on this forum...

Live and learn... Suck it up buttercup....

Good luck with the sale....

You're gonna have it for a long time at that price...

$2500??? for only the trans??? holy crap!!!!!... its not worth that much..lol.. everyone told ya about $300-$500 where did $2500 come from??

The only way a 727 would have 3 grand in it would be if it had billet drum, bolt in sprag, Kevlar bands, billet converter etc. I could see if it was a numbers Hemi trans, but you will never sell it at that price. Anyone that would buy it would be taking right apart to check it over anyway, especially being able to see that it was painted with the valve body, cables, etc. all in it. Make your price more reasonable and someone will buy it

Lol. I picked up a 1964 BB 727 for free (picked it up in Phoenix) because they guy got zero response over on FBBO. Yes, the slip yoke version is more desired but as far as worth, well, it is worth what someone will pay. I wouldn't pay more than $200 for one.

This motor and transmission were stolen from me. I would like to have it back! I'm not saying that this person stole it, but he may have bought it from the guy that did. I found this post a few days ago in a Google search while looking for a 65 console cable shift transmission to replace it.
