Good Morning,
I have been doing some reading on the QA1 crossmember and had a couple questions.
Working on a ‘67 Barracuda, factory 273 crossmember with a ‘72 360.

First question will my existing motor mounts work? I ordered them from Mancini several years ago telling them I had a ‘67 273 crossmember and I wanted to bolt a 360 in its place. I can’t seem to nail down which mounts the QA1 crossmember requires.

Second, QA1 instructions say their sway bar is the only one that will work.
I have a new in the box hellwig part number 55917. Will that bolt on?

Third, I thought I read a post about another 67 and they had to use a 68-72 idler arm. The one year only 67 arm didn’t fit. Just want to confirm that’s the case.

I also have a pair of Firm Feel upper control arms I plan on using.

Just want to have all my ducks in a row and all the parts in the garage before I tear the car apart

thanks again for all your help

You are correct, the 67 doesn’t work. It requires the 68-72 arm.

The engine mounts will work.

The idler will not.

The Firm Feel UCA’s will work fine.

The sway bar I’m not sure. The problem will be the distance between the mounts and the LCA’s. The LCA tab location will be the same/close enough because that’s the pro-touring style bar. But the mounts may put the ends too far forward or back. Just depends on how much work you’re willing to do to get it mounted, it probably won’t just bolt on. But a heavy piece of flat stock with some holes might be all you need to relocate the mounting brackets a bit.

Thanks all for the replies…
After a lot more googling, my impression is their products are inclusive to themselves.

It is a lot of money but it would clean up the installation, stiffen the chassis and make headers a breeze. At the end of the day, I do want a parking lot cone chaser that also dubs as a mountain road carver, which we have a lot of here in idaho. Especially if you include their lower control arms.

If your current K member is in good condition you can seam weld and reinforce the steering box mount and LCA pivot tubes.

The QA1 tubular K member isn’t any stiffer than a reinforced stock K, and it’s only about 8-10 lbs lighter. The only real advantage is a bit more room for a larger oil pan.

The tubular LCA’s are similar, they’re really not a huge advantage over boxed factory LCA’s. The old design allowed for about an extra 1” of suspension travel, which was great for lowered cars. The current design has a bump stop design that pretty much eliminates that and makes the travel the same as factory. They could be modified pretty easily but it would take modifications.
