Im putting a 440 in my 68 dart using a front engine plate instead of motor mounts. I was told the height between the top of the k member to the center of the crankshaft should be about 5 inches. Does this sound right?

Pretty close, but also is about 1.5" to the passenger side to clear the steering gear box.

If there was ever a real reason to go to Rack and Pinion steering, a big block in an A body fits the bill.

That's what I did. Still had problems due to starter placement when I had the car front-halved.
