I have a buddy with a 1964 Ford Falcon with a 170 cid 6cyl three on the tree. He’s wanting to put an automatic overdrive transmission in it. Are there any direct bolt ups for that engine? Or maybe a better question is, What would it take to put an overdrive transmission on that 170?

Here's an adapter that'll put a T5 behind it, it appears. You could leave the stock bellhousing and clutch linkage in place. I know you said automatic, but that would probably be an easy swap.....although you may have to do transmission tunnel mods similar to an A body. You'd likely have to do them with an automatic anyway.

When you are dealing with ford you had better have your act together. You would be well off to buy a Lincoln mark 7 88 89 90 5.0 AOD they don’t go very high and you can use quite a few parts
