Hey guys i got a quick fuel pump question. my edelbrock 650 thunder series carb requires no more than 6psi. if i get a carter hp mechanical fuel pump that puts out 6.9-8.1 max psi can i just put a regulator after it and set it to 6psi and be ok?

thanks, thoughts or ideas welcomed.

Yep, you're on the right track. tmm

ok im hoping this will compensate for the pressure drop. when the engine was on the dyno at wide open throttle the pressure dropped from around 6 to 3 psi with a factory style fuel pump. so im hoping if the hp fuel pump is putting out around 7.5 psi and i put a regulator in after it even with the fuel pressure drop the pump should keep it at at least 5 psi. does this sound right.

sounds like you got a crappy made OEM; there are decent horsepower hemi's running the same pump without problems...

i dont have any noticable problems in the car, runs great, just concerned on what it did on the dyno
