Is there a bolt in rack and pinion kit for the 73 to 76 A bodies out there? I haven't located anything yet

sure but they also replace the k-frame and torsion bars.

At one time there was a kit,but I don't remember who sold it. I don't think it was very successful .
I believe it made it front steer. Or maybe I'm dreaming.

yea there was a kit. bolted to the steering box bolts and where the idler arm would be. total failure. poor geometry and clearance issues. unisteer may have been the company.

There’s no good way to add a rack and pinion without a complete K-frame replacement. Anything less than that typically results in poor suspension geometry and lots of bump steer.

But yes, there are kits that will give you poor geometry and bump steer.
