Radio face trim (bezel)

What is the "true" color of the radio face trim (bezel)? I know that the recessed area on mine is chrome. The color in question are the outer perimeters. Mine is very faded, almost non existing, like some sort of tan color. The back of the piece's interior is a shiny gold, not paint but the actual color of the molded plastic. My car? 1965 Barracuda, with original black interior.

It's Argent with chrome trim. That's about as close as I can describe it. The base material was a tan plastic so thays what shows when it's worn.

I believe it was a vacuum.deposition chrome job with smooth texture where it's chrome Like and a matte texture where it's not, or straigh up Argent which may have been a chrome with mica pigment in it.
