don't buy a baby duramax pickup , we have two for work trucks and the list of problems is long, long , long ..

all this to change out an Alternator

Yuck! The guy in the office right next to mine has a GMC Canyon with a Duramax in it. Not sure what year, think it's about a 2019 based on interwebs pictures. Think he would have the same issue?
 
if it's the 3.0 , yes .. if he does not know, maybe he don't care but, preventive maintenance on them is to change oil pump belt at 150k .. have to take transmission out to do that

Ours have had all kinds of problems , injectors , glow plugs , transmisison blew up on one of them , had to replace the complete exhaust on both , the water pump went out on one of them

I'll ask him what year, and what size engine he has...somehow.

these are diesels, not sure if Canyon was available with a diesel
Yup, his is a diesel. Got a big ol' label on the hood that says "Duramax Diesel" on it.

I'd take a picture of it, but....

 
Buddy's car. Moved today under its own power for the first time in like 45 years! Original 440/4-speed/Dana car. Still has the Dana.
