I have a set of chrome cast alum plate covers from when my car was purchased new but they are in kind of rough shape & was wondering if anyone had a set laying around in better shape.

While it never hurts to ask, this will be a difficult item to find. And for what its worth, your are in the best condition of any I've seen in a long time. Best of luck on your quest, but restoring yours may be the best alternative.

They appear to be the standard pot metal license frame that then had a decal put in the designated spot.

Find a new one, have a vinyl guy make you new decals...hell, make abit of money and do up some and sell for a few bucks more.

Yeah that is how it's looking so far. These don't have decals everything is casted, plated then painted.

I'm here in California and I keep an eye out for Dodge, Plymouth frames at swap meets. They are hard to come across even here in California. Checking on ebay often is probably your best shot.

I did find this old ad from them.

Maybe contact Leanna and maybe she could do her powdercoat magic to restore them Sedanman. She did a good job on some pot metal emblems for me but do kind of remember her saying working on pot metal could blow out in the oven which could give ugly results.

I found San Jose, Bona Sera Chrysler Plymouth plate covers on ebay from Wisconsin

These are tough to find, I restored mine myself. There were cracks which I soldered on the inside. And model paint was by far the best to use. (Chrysler Plymouth was tiny letters. My eyes still hurt)

I do look for other California ( even southern) plate covers. I will let you know

I live in Torrance and used to go to Ray Vane Chrysler Plymouth all the time. I'll check the Long Beach Swap Meet this weekend for you.
