Posted this in Fuel forum but not getting any input.

My application is street/strip.

Looking to replace my 10 gallon plastic fuel cell with a larger aluminum cell. Don't have the budget for an Aeromotive.

I was in Summit site and they mostly sell RCI cells. Doing research on forums seems lots of people ( and I mean LOTS) had issues with these things leaking over time and bad welds. Many of the comments were a couple of years old.

Did quality of RCI cells change now? Are they better or still have issues? Don't understand Summit selling these things for so long if they were failing all the time.

If not, what quality aluminum cell Manufacturer would you recommend? Does anyone on here make quality customs cells?

Thanks

Been A little over a year now, but, Had one in a jeep. Had it strapped, just like rci recommended. Was backing the jeep off the trailer, had about a foot drop, rear tires came off the trailer and the horizontal weld broke!!! Brand new tank, first time jeep was ever taken out! and it made it about 10 ft. Was it worth the $250 to go 10ft? Umm No. the company was no help, talked to a guy about having it replaced, had about 3 conversation, sent pictures of the mounting location, the mounts and the 18" long crack in the weld!!! sounded like they were going to send out a new one, or repair my old one, but after the 3rd call, never heard anything from them again. The guy I was talking to never returned anymore phone calls. I will never buy one of their tanks again. Wound up having one built locally. Did use the sending unit and fuel filler from the RCI though!
