rear axel seals

I need to replace the seals in the real axle of my 65 Barracuda. Is there any thing I need to know about removing the old ones? Also the bearings feel good but should I replace those while I have the axles out? If so do they have to be pressed on? The rear end is a stock 7 1/4.

.............I believe the bearings are in the housing......u will need a slide hammer and correct size puller.......kim.........

Thanks Kim, The Cjilton's book doesn't give much detail. It just says remove them.

I never did a 7 1/4 but on my 8 3/4 the bearings need to be pressed on and for the seals i was able to get them out with a Little poking and prodding. Then lube up your new seals and push them in EVENLY.Not to bad of a job.
