I'm working on a rear axle swap with a "B" body 8 3/4 axle into a 79 Dodge Aspen RT. I have the correct lower spring mounts , but the shock configuration is different as the lower shock is a "Bolt/Bushing" arrangement instead of the original bottom" Stud/Nut" F Body. I'm thinking OE B Body shocks should work but I'm not sure about their length. Also see that the rear flexible brake hose is different. Not sure what model/year application should fit. Any information is appreciated.

Use A/B body 8.75 shock plates and U bolts to replace the isolator type used on F/M/J bodies. B body shocks should work, depending on what rear spring is being used- if you're using a heavier spring with a higher arch you may need to go to an Imperial shock. Once the rear is installed, measure the distance between the upper and lower shock studs- that distance should be in the middle of the listed shock travel that you select.
Hose length will depend on the year B body rear that you are using, different years located the "T" fitting on different parts of the housing. Jack the rear of the car up and let the rear end hang. Measure from the T mounting point to the body bracket and add a few inches. Then browse the Mopar listings- on Rock Auto, for instance- and get a rear hose that falls into that dimension- err on the side of caution and go longer rather than shorter. Pay close attention to hoses from B vans and pickups, as they tend to be longer.

Thanks for the help!! I have the B body spring mounts and U bolts. Just concerned with shock length. Brake hose connections are still different, but I really do appreciate your advice. Thanks again!
