Rear end whine…

Please don’t hate me, as this is technically a ford related question… everything else in my Dart is Mopar!! I’ve got a 9in that I narrowed and rebuilt for my 65 with 3.73 gears and a posi. It seems to be working great with the exception of a fairly loud whine at very light throttle. It goes away when coasting and is much quieter during acceleration. It’s louder than it sounds in the video. Fluid is good and nothing is getting more than lukewarm even with spirited driving. Only has maybe 300 miles on it. Any thoughts?

Try setting your ring gear to pinion backlash to .012 ths.

Looking like you have it set closer to .008 ths. running tight.

Some would say it's not close to being broken in yet so you never know. I had a noisy dana 60. There were lots of complaints about noise with cheap gears.
