rear seat removal

tryin g to get my back seat reupholstered. got the bottom part out with plenty of sweat and tears.

can not figure out for the life of me how to get the seat back part out though.

68 dart. 4 door, doubt the no. of doors makes a difference but ya never know.

Draggin, there should be a small screw/bolt holding seat back. It is located center left to right, and directly under seat back. You can't get at it until you remove the bottom. Mike

the only ones I see are either the bolts for the seat belts and then there are two bolts in the floor(directly under the seat back) that do not appear to have anything what so ever to do with the seat.

hmm found a figure i nthe service manual, should help me tomorrow when the light returns.

the manual was wrong it was not held in with screws there were two metal tabs (hidden behind fabric flaps) that bent over soem rods from the seat keeping it held down.

My back is hurting just thinking about popping out the bottom set.
glad you found the metal flaps and I bet it lifted right out. :thumbup:
