What am I missing ? Rear side markers wont light. 70 Duster, New rear harness, rear brake lights & rear turn signals work. New bulbs installed.

Thanks

If that is a one wire socket there may be lack of chassis ground.

I checked the DC voltage at the rear socket. I have 12 volts but lamp won't light.

Is there corroision in the bulb socket? If there is get some dielectric grease & a little wire brush.

Ok , so if you have the correct bulb and 12 volts going into its center contact, to path to ground is through the side of the bulb base to the bulb socket. The bulb socket must ground to the fixture and so on to the car body. Too much paint or a socket not tight in a potmetal fixture will loose the ground.
Frankly, I'll peel those old metal bulb sockets out in a heartbeat. The little white rubber sockets for #158 bulbs will fit in there and provide 2 wires. I can then go straight to ground or make them blink sequential if I choose to. This also makes replacing a bulb a heck of a lot easier on some models/fixtures.

The bulb that I have is a 1895 China. LOL Is it a #158 I need ? I sanded & cleaned the edges up on my brackets, still not.

No . #158 is the little bayonet type bulb that pushes straight into the later model sockets, also found in your instrument panel lighting.

The bulb 1895 was correct. Sanded some paint from the inner fender where the hold down bracket grounds to the car and WA LA. I have rear marker lights.

Thanks for everyones feed back. :)
