I am thinking about putting a set of SS/Springs 002 and 003 on my 68 Valiant for the street where is the best place to buy them? I also need a clutch kit for my 8 and 3/4 posi where is a good place to buy these parts? thanks.

Summit or Jegs is the best place. Cant beat there shipping prices. Anywhere else is going to cost you a small fortune to ship.

Check with ESPO for springs. A body springs are not listed on their website. Just call them, they will make up anything you want.

As for replacing clutches in the 8 ¾ Suregrip, if it has an Auburn “cone type” section, I don’t think one can refurbish it, it’s a replace only item.

As for the springs I would not put them on a street car, unless you like the car has a 400 pound driver in it when it doesn't have anyone in it.

Check out Mancini for the springs and also check your local dealership, they can save you a lot on shipping.

I have a set of HD repo springs that where only used for a few runs $100 plus shipping
PM me if interested

I am trying to decide which springs to use on my 73 Duster - swapping an 8 3/4 for the 7 1/4 in there now.

I am building a street car, planning for about 400HP. Would there be a difference in height of the back end with the SS springs or would either type of spring provide the same height? I want the rear end to be up a little bit, possibly going with decent sized 50's on the back. I like the look of fat tires, but not thinking of moving the springs or using offset shackles etc.

Feedback / direction appreciated. Thanks

i have been doing a lot of reading here the last few days...and from what i have read best thing to do is go a get you a weight on the car....weight the car with the driver in it then push the front off the scale then weight the back with the driver ...then you can fig. out what springs you need... i use to race my duster was a 340 in it and car would do ok but now that i have been in to learning what need to be done i see things diff... and car would/could have went faster...i have 02/03 ss springs and went a best of 1.67 60' and a buddy has stock springs 73 duster and been 1.58 60'.... do some reading or ask ???????? to learn... i now know some of the problem i had with my car.... mike:wack:

i spent a lot of money in places i didnt need to spent if the car would have worked /hooked right ...just saying
