On a 65 Barracuda, are the rear wheel bearings suppose to be greased or not? One manual says grease them, the factory manual says don't. Any ideas? I have new bearings to install but the old ones seem to be in good shape. I may just replace the leaking wheel seals. and leave it as is for now. What do you think?

If they are not sealed bearings, you pack them with grease.

The bearings I purchased are stock replacements. I haven't really looked at them.

The stock bearings get packed with grease. They don't get any oil from the axle, that's what the inner seals are for.

If you're changing the outer axle seals, then you're pulling the old bearings off already. I'd just change them, they do wear.

Like stated above. Replace the seals and pack the new bearings with grease.

Thanks for the advise. The repair manual for 65 Plymouth said not to, thats why I ask.
