I would think it's very unlikely a 8.75 for a six, unless there was a spiecal request for one like taxi use or something. Use this link to identify your rearend and let us know.

thanks guys, well ive got the 7.25, so i am probably gonna just end up getting a new rear end, as to all the articles i have read say this is the toothpick of rearends. im new to this mopar stuff hahaha, so its looks like 8.75 is the way to go since im going to be in the neighborhood of replacing it? thanks all !

Unless you plan on running gobs of horsepower, you might want to consider the 8.25 which would also give you the large bolt pattern. This makes wheel selection so much easier than the limited choices with the 5 x 4" bolt pattern.

Yes, very true, lots cheaper and more plentful to obtain while still able to handle most street/strip duty cars. It beats upgrading axles in most A body 8-3/4 rears. Also, should the 8-3/4 not have a sure grip, the 8-1/4 is about half the price.

Seeing I'm in the same boat, and not trying to hi-jack this post, what is the best donor vehicle to get the 8 1/4 out of? I know that a "B" 8 3/4" will fit into an "A" though it is a little wider. Is the same true on the 8 1/4"?
Thx.
Mac

The width is year and model dependent. I don't know if theres a chart here with all the specs. Soooo, the Mopar Chassis book is a good source of this info.
The like model will be a great donor. The 8-1/4 is very common. I went the same route myself.
