I printed that page out and went over the information on it. It seems like it is all there but it hasn't been updated for 7 years. I took my box and that page of part numbers around to the local Napas, Oreilys, and Parts/Machine Shops. All of them have looked and looked with no luck. The have been about to find 1 or 2 of the seals (one of which is a special order only). Bassically the numbers have "expired" or are no longer valid.

Can anyone point out new part numbers? I want to replace all 3 of the torringtons, both of the roller bearings, and the two seals. I was planning on getting the 20:1 worm gear seperatly but the more I look in to it the better and better "box 4" from Firm Feels sounds.

Can anyone out?

I haven’t done and box in a few years so the seals I have a home probably are superseded too. I’ll check tomorrow if no one else has any good numbers.
If what you say is the case , call a specialty suppler of bearings a seals.
They should be able to give you cross-references. (For instance, I’ve always used these people : Bearing's & Drives Atlanta, GA 30303 (770) 423-4816)
Then you can either order seals from them or give the numbers to your NAPA store and they can get the correct ones.
I would be surprised if your bearing needs replacing. Just be careful and don’t lose any of the needles. They are in the housing lose. A good cleaning and repacking with new grease will probably work just fine.

Those are the seals that I have. Bought them years ago. So I would have to contact a supplier like I said to get good numbers.
Federal Mogul 7214 (National) small seal
Chicago Rawhide 11067 large seal

I was looking on RockAuto.com for steering box seals & found a few listings, but the application info on some of them doesn't specify whether it's for a manual or power steering box. Can anybody tell me if these numbers are for a manual steering box? I couldn't find any contact info Rock Auto on their site so I couldn't ask them.

Gates part # 350510 (Steering Gear Complete Rebuild Kit/Bearings, Seals & O-rings) $37.79

Edelmann part # 7895 (Steering Gear Major Seal Kit) $25.79

They also list the worm shaft seal (#7214) seperately for $6.67.

Another question. If I have a damaged case with good internals is there any reason the parts can't just swapped straight over into another case?

I am not sure about the kits, the manual box dosen't have any o-rings. The Power box how ever should. I know the seal (part number 7214) is correct for the manaul box.

I just posted my rebuild on my large sector manual box, it is titled "My Manual Steering Box Rebuild W/Valid Part Numbers ".

Check it out, I hope it helps some one.
