LA 360 (non-Magnum) with Edelbrock Performer intake and ThermoQuad. I'll tighten down the carb bolts but they seem to loosen up again, causing a random miss at idle and low RPM. This has happened twice now. Maybe it is some problem with the base gasket shrinking? Should I should use some Copper Coat gasket spray? Any suggestions appreciated.

Does your gasket have the plastic inserts were the bolts go through, The gasket should be about 1/4" thick

the TQ base gaskets, which I like, are one piece solid black plastic with a THIN gasket glued to each side. The gasket has a slickness to it, so it doesn't stick to carb throttle base or intake surface. They don't imprint at all, and they are reusable.

That sounds interesting. I've not seen one. Can you post a link?

Like was mentioned earlier, I always use the thick gasket with the plastic grommets that keep from over tightening.

I could take a picture of an old one, but I don't know how to do that on fabo. send me a pm with an email address and I'll send you some pics. They used to come in rebuild kits, and years ago, I bought about a dozen from MA mopar. They had a part number back in the 90's.

I did just that! Thank you!

Sounds like your low-speed circuit is running on the edge of lean then, and any tiny leak makes your engine unhappy.. Ima thinking your T-port sync is out. Try backing off the timing 2 degrees, then crank up the speed screw to get the rpm back up, and then reset the mixture screws, to the rich side. Repeat as often as necessary or until the idle timing falls below about 10 degrees.
