My quarter glass is held to the regulator by the stud and spring nut as shown below.

The factory manual says to remove the spring nuts to remove the glass from the regulator.

"With glass in mid-position, remove spring nuts from regulator arm studs and studs from rollers".

They face the outside of the body so you can feel them but can't see them plus as you know it's very tight reaching in through the inner openings.

What is the secret to removing these spring nut's? Is there another way to do this? Any help is appreciated.

If you have replacements I would just cut them with wire cutters. The other method is pry the little fingers up so they release.

They hardly ever break when they come off, so I have always grabbed them with needle nose pliers and twist em off. (Kinda pops them inside out)
Then I straighten them out and reuse them.

They do snap sometimes though.
