My gas cap has a torn gasket. Stant 10800 is supposed to be OE replacement, but it won't be the body color. My perfect solution is to buy the new one, unscrew the insides, and use them to replace the insides of my original cap. The original one has screws holding the insides to the outer part. Does the Stant replacement part have those too? I can't find a photo that shows it from the right angle.

Does this help.

Made a gasket for mine from pvc shower pan liner. Not gasoline proof but gasoline resistant . Seems to be working fine so far, since it is not submerged in fuel.

You can make one from sheet stock rubber. I made a gasket for the fuel tank sender unit by going to a Tru-Value Hardware store and asking them if they still had sheet stock rubber. They did and I found some that was the right type for fuel resistance and real close to the original thickness. Cost me $1.50 and I still have enough rubber left to make more gaskets.
