I am begin the restoration of my cuda 67, I want have the original engine is a 273...

I bought a hookers headers for fit in my car, I bought a Edelbrock intake manifold, and I have a Edelbrock 500cfm 4bbl.

I want replace the camshaft and the ignition system, my answer is: which is the camshaft appropriate for me??? and which ignition system?

Which other parts must be changed???? water pump???? fuel pump????
My engine have the mechanical lifts, i saw kits of camshaft and hidrahulic lifts, can I fit thats lifts into my engine????

Thanks!!! and sorry for my ignorance...

For a cam, I'd run a Comp X4250H. It's a truck cam, but I think it will do well with the small displacement, better intake, carb and headers. It's also hydraulic, so you should only need to set the valve lash once. Also, if your rockers have the old adjuster screw only setup, you should invest in the newer screw and lock nut type of lash adjuster. The rockers stay the same, you only need the new bolts and nuts. As far as ignition, any street type would be fine. I'd definately go electronic, either MP, FBO, Summit, or MSD.

hi, I use to run 273 motors , the iskenderian brand of cams offers a very nice solid lifter cam for the 273 motor, grind is the E 4. it works very well in the 273, you will not have to change pushrods. you should upgrade the rocker arms with the mopar newer nut and bolt kit. the E4cam specs are; 260 dur/216dur @.050, 108 LCA, .425 lift, .015 lash. I have used this cam in 273 before, it wakes them up. very driveable, has very strong low end and mid range torque. can be used with a stock convertor. go with mopar ignition or MSD. A 500 CFM carb is more than enough for this motor.

The iskenderian part can be a good part for my engine, but i like buy a complete kit with cam, lifters, valve springs, and rocker arms, pushrods...

I dont know if can replace the original lifts (mechanical) by a new lifts (hidraulic)... any idea???

hi, isky does sell cam kits. mine was a cam/lifter,springs,retainers,locks.
plus isky sells adjustable rocker arms and pushrod. they can make up a whole kit.
