72 duster, car sat for years, redid front discs, new metal lines on rear. when i go for a drive right rear wheel gets very hot. just rebled brakes again and went for drive, same thing, heat gun says 214 celsius, 51 on drivers side. jacked up rear of car and put in drive at idle, drivers tire turns, pass side doesnt, in reverse both wheels turn. any ideas?

Possibly the wheel cylinder pistons are sticking. Did you rebuild the wheel cylinders?

I had a gummed up prop valve that did something similar once also. One side was adjusted a bit more then the other and did not retract as much and it left a bit of pressure on the rear cylinders. That was fun to find.

Got daughter to push pedal for me last night and the cylinders are only pushing forward on the brake shoe to the front, rear shoes are not getting movement.first timer on rear drum brakes, im guessing both shoes should be moving equally to front and rear?

Yes they should might be a bad wheel cylinder. I would take the shoes off and clean the backing plate and lube the rub spots with some white grease or similar.

I have new wheel cylinders for it, just been too busy workin on my demon instead of wifes duster, i'll tackld it this week, hope those old cylinders come out without too much of a fight, thanks for input guys
