Minitubbed `71 Duster, will move the springs inboard to the rails. Looking for widest wheels that still have decent tire clearance - 15-8.5" or 10"? Also need to figure out width for rear housing that will let me use standard offset/backspace wheels as I will be most likely buying them used so I don`t want to be hunting for a specific backspace or having to order new. I checked the wheel tire combo thread but not enough info for minitubbed cars.

I've done 48" and 47" on narrowing the rear end in a dart. With both I used 10" weld wheel with 5 1/2" back space. On the 47, I had to use 5/8" spacer but did it because a 12" wheel with a 6 1/2" back space works. It's tight! but will fit. I like my wheels to be centered in the tub that's why I did these lengths. All I can tell you is MEASURE,MEASURE,MEASURE!!!! Before you commit. It's an costly mistake if you get it wrong. The wheels you run have everything to do with your axle length. Russ

I'm just throwing this into the mix, food for thought. I'm running a B body rear in my Dart Sport with 10" wheels, 5 1/2" back space.

I guess my point is, with the Duster, Demon, Dart Sport platform, it's quite a bit more forgiving than a Dart platform.

You mention wheels, but no reference to tires. I guess it's going to depend on how wide the tire is, section width that is.

This is with a 60 series tire and stock wheelhouse.

Wheel width pretty much dictates tire size, usually within an inch of the wheel.

I like the look of the wheel well on a dart but it does limit your tire size. Bad Sport, which b body rear end did you use? There are like 3 or 4 different lengths. I use a 5 1/2 backspace 10" wheel after I narrow the rear end to 48". I have a friend with a duster and I must say I'm jealous of his factory wheel tub.
