WOW I didn't even know or "figure" he was still alive. This couple of decades is for certain an end of an era. Between rules changes bean counters, and no incentive for any real innovation, you have to wonder where racing, in general is headed. By the way, Bill Simpson also just passed on
I grew up watching NASCAR in the late 60's and 70's, those early racers were the true pioneers and innovators. They risked it all, some lost it all, and left us with some incredible memories.
I don't remember the exact whole story, but Junior was going to quit Nascar at some point. Bill France and JJ were eating breakfast and France told JJ he could not quit because he was committed to racing. JJ told France, see that Ham? That pig is committed to this breakfast. See those Eggs? That chicken is just involved with breakfast. JJ said, see the difference??? We need more folks like Junior Johnson, RIP Junior.
