I just bought a set of aluminum large port commando heads from MP (mopar performance) for my 340 which require a set of offset W2 rockers (which convienently, MP doesnt make anymore) but they are still classified as LA heads. I finally found a set of aluminum full roller rockers from Harland Sharp and ordered them. When they came in I tried the heads and rockers on a 318 Im building for a guy and found nothing lined up. The pushrods were hitting the bottom of the heads not allowing them to seat at the new aluminum rocker set screws. I called Harland Sharp and wxplianed to them what haapened but they assured me the rockers are corrrect. Is it possable I have to modify these $2400.00 heads or are the $1800.00 rockers wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. :help:

The commandos take offset rockers and require offset shafts and are special to the commandoes and the W-5-7 series heads and W-2s race verisions. The rockers that I bought are correct so look at shaft alignment and or offset.

Maybe your pushrods are the wrong ones? Length wise. Be sure to check all this before you go too far. Shaft alignment has alot to do with it.

I made sure the set I ordered did have the offset, Randy @ Harland Sharp figured i needed the .100" offset. Do you think it should be more or will this be enough? MP told me these heads are considered to be LA heads but because they have been ported so much they require the offset W2 rockers.

The rockers that we used on the commandos had alot more offset than this I think they were .485, I'll have to go back and look. I have it all logged in one of the manuals, it may take a day or two as we did this a year ago. But Randy would know and I think that we used the W-5 W-7 rockers. The .100 offset sounds too little for the angle, this is pretty much a std. B engine rocker offset.
Your in luck I found it, we did use the W-5 rocker offset. The spacer mounting blocks require the use of offset shafts to work out right. As the holes in the blocks will be off .180 or so to the stock shafts.

Which commando heads did you use? The ones I have are MP# P4876310 and the Harland Sharp rocker # is 70026w2k100. I might just have to take my engine apart and try them on it, I was hoping to get everything figured out prior to taking the engine apart that way I could still drive it until I was ready to switch it all over in a day, but like you said the pushrods might not be correct either. Thanks for your info, if you can think of anything else it would be appreciated.
