What would be a good roller cam to put in place of a stock roller cam?I want something that has a noticable lope.It is a daily driver to and from work.I am not interested in racing,I just want it to sound cool. Also what springs? It is completly stock,no headers, but will use air gap intake,4 barrell carb, and thats about it.I will install "Twice Pipes" for exhaust. The engine is in a 1972 Dart. Thanks

You never said what size engine. Other good things to included as far as info goes is tranny model, gear ratio and tire size along with intended useage of the car.
For a cool sound, as in like, "I got a cam in there baby!"
A tight centerline is what gives that chop chop chop sound. Look for a cam with a centerline of 110 for that sound and still have good drivabilty.
When you order the cam, just ask them for the springs they recomend for the cam. It is that easy. I recomend Crane cams because they have small roller cams. I have not notice them in the Comp Cams catolog unless it's a Magnum engine.

Call them up with as much info as possible.

Thanks Rumblefish for the reply. It's a 360 out of a 1989 van.727 torqueflight, not sure on axle ratio as of yet,but probably highway gears.Tire size will be the tallest and widest I can get in a minitubbed 1972 dart.I do have a question in regard to price of roller cam.Why are rollers so much more than regular cams? :headbang:

The only answer I can give for that is one that I think is B.S. for starters...and enders.
You pay for performance. Thats what they tell me.
I'd call one of the cam companys up and ask for some help on a roller with some thump on the exhaust sound. You'll need your gear ratio and tire size (Diameter) and any changes on the engine. Also car wieght, and any converter/tranny changes and up grades. Let'em know everything for best possible result.
