I was wondering if any one had a suggestion on wich carb spacer works best for a rpm air-gap intake on a .030 over 360 with 10.65 to one compresion? I am running a 750 holley double pumper with a pro-form center section. The car is a 72 dart that runs 12.30s @ 108mph 1.68 60 ft. It also has a 4000 stall converter with a 4.10 gear! I'm just looking for a little extra and would love to get car in the 11.s Any advice would be helpfull!

Everytime I have seen tests on carb spacers I come away with the same story. You have to buy a bunch and try them, seems every engine is has it's own unique needs and no one design or size is best.

I can save you a lot of trouble. I ran an air gap on my old 340 that went 11.80's. I also dynoed several spacer's. Go buy an HVH 1" 4 hole tappered and be done with it. I gained a 1/10 on a good tune up with that spacer. I run one of these under my dominator on my 416 now. They are a little spendy but worth it.

Thanks for the reply! I was wondering wich HVH spacer you used with your RPM AIR-GAP intake? They offer the ss4150-1a wich is the aluminum 4 hole 1 in. spacer,or the ss 41501p with phenolic plastic 4-hole 1in.they call both of those super suckers,or I see they have the st4150-4 street sweeper wich they recomend for the RPM AIR-GAP .This one is also aluminum? Thanks again!

BG makes the correct spacer for application, Part Number 5282010GC, it's 5.25" tall and goes between the manifold and the air cleaner $499.00

Another vote for the HVH super sucker. I have the street sweeper on my car. It made enough differance to feel on the butt dyno.

Hey AdamR I talked to you a while back about a carb spacer for a rpm air gap on a small block mopar. We'll I went out and purchased a HVH street sweeper for a Performer RPM intake(thats what HVH recomended because of center devider) so I put it on and noticed the front of the spacer holes over lap the intake about 1/16 in. that's right were the spacer bells out at the bottom! Just wondering if you think that will affect the performance of the spacer, and do you think maybe I should take a die grinder and open up intake at that point? Just looking for a little help and advice! Thanks Twister74

I would try it as is first. If your not happy with the gain you can always blend the spacer and intake in. My motor made 8 more horse with the HVH then without on the dyno.
