Running "Harold - where's my headers" thread

As most of you are aware. I PREPAID Harold Johnson for 2 sets of spitfire headers (1 early A, 1 late A). We are going to use them on our school cars.
I paid him $400 back in July, 08.

I got the first set after several call, in Feb. 09. Since then I've call at least 50 times. Iv'e gotten every excuse imaginable.

3 weeks ago, I threatened legal action. He returned my call and said "you'll have a refund of the $200 in a week". Guess what? no refund. I've call 4 more times since then, left messages...no call backs. Today: 11-24-09, I called again and said that if I don't have an answer within a week, I"m filing criminal charges.

I will keep everyone informed as to what happens. I even gave him the option: headers for SOMETHING....or $200 refund.

No one should deal with this guy unless its COD. And all you SOBs who got MY headers.....you should feel bad. I'm ripped off, you got me headers.....

he shorted me some promised items with my headers back in June, half a million calls later, and similar legal action threats, last week he called and said they'd be on their way Friday, still no parts, and still no answers with Harold, buyer beware, he makes nice headers, but he's basically an a$$hole to deal with after the fact.

Seriously,someone should start making these headers.If I didn,t already have a job,I,d be looking into setting up to make these.$$$$I guess only a dream for now.HAROLD IS A DINGBAT to say the least!:angry7:
 
LOL and the last I heard was that Harold was working on fixing his "reputation" hahahahaha what a jackass!
 
He got me too! Ordered them in August, after a couple weeks I called him and he said they box was damaged in shipping. Many unanswered phone calls later...I decided to file a postal fraud investigation on him. We'll see how it comes out.

laysons was for a short time there. they cost in the neighborhood of $500 though.. :)
 
How come Harold keeps screwing guys over and people keep buying from him but 1 person has a bad experience with BJR and everyone was ready to hang the guy? LOL
 
I am going to modify a set of dak headers for my 64..........
 
I have to say Harold sold me2 pair at a year apart. He sent them to me both
"unpaid!-no cod" and told me to send a check when they arrive. He trusted and treated me GREAT. I don't get why he is doing this.

On a side not you would think he would have improved the outlets by now.
 
I had got mine shipped here in Ontario,Canada no problem,also other members weren,t having problems in the springtime.Now he has slipped back into his old ways.I don,t get it?He could have a good thing going,but I guess you need smarts which he obviously doesn,t have.:bootysha:
 
12-3 update: 2 more calls....2 more messages left. No return calls...no headers. I just called him now, 9:19pm and left another message, this time I told him to return my call tomorrow, Friday or I'm filing theft charges.

There was a set on ebay a few years ago. They look like rear dump shorty headers. I remember the ad had a comment about waiting for Harold to build them.

I don't understand why any of the header companies don't make a shorty design similar to spitfires, but more like the Dakota design. I think they would sell many. I know I'd buy them.
I was also thinking of modifying or making my own. But I don't have any cash for the header pipe kit and flanges. Although I do have a set of Dakota headers.
 
Someone really should start making these, I too would buy a set. I have TTI's now and can say that while they are a pain in the a$$ I'm glad I didn't have to deal with Harolds b.s.
 
Well, guess I get to join the crowd.

I purchased a set of Spitfire headers from an eBay auction, back on Sept 09/09. Figured that the seller just had a set that he no longer needed.

So, being in Canada, I know that it's gonna take a bit for them to show up. After about 3-4 weeks, I contact the seller to ask where my headers are, and when I should expect them.

Turns out the seller is Harold's "son-in-law" or something. No big deal, I supposed. I know he's not fast, they should be here soon.

Guess what?

Yup, still no headers. But I did get a message thru eBay, from the "son-in-law" to "Call Harold". By the sounds of it, I may be wasting my time. But, I don't take kindly to being ripped off, so phone tag it shall be.

Hey, if he's in Arkansas, maybe a couple fine, upstanding members could stop by and show him how we stick together here on FABO.
 
Is,nt that E-bay fraud?I,ve never dealt with E-bay,but if I bought something off there I,d expect to recieve it.I guess anybody can post items there and just collect money without sending?What no E-bay cops?:stop:
 
Big problem with eBay is that you have to file a complaint within 60 days. By the time you figure out that you've really been screwed it could be too late. Then, all eBay will do is say that they take this seriously, blah, blah, blah, & they do nothing. Ask me how I know.
 
I talked to Harold 2 days ago...he actually called me. After repeated messages left for him threatening filing charges....I guess he decided to return my call. He asked for a little more time until early January to get the headers to me. He said he's still hurt from his arm surgery, and not making headers at this time. I, like a dope, said OK. I'm in the process of getting a copy of my original check ( that I sent him a over year ago, July 08) from the bank, and will file criminal charges if he stalls again. this sux.
 
Looks like he lives in west north west Arkansas.
