Sad day in music

Dimebag Darrell from the band Pantera and Damageplan was shot last night during a show in Ohio. This man inspired me to pick up a guitar and learn to play. I am deeply hurt. Darrell was the most fun loving guy anyone would ever meet. I will truly miss him amd his music.

Yup, Dec. 8th. is a bad day all around. On this date Lennon was shot, Vince Neil (from Motley Crue) killed his buddy Raz in a Pantera, and ironicly, Dimebag from Pantera get's killed on stage. :sad3:

A good friend of mine met him last Saturday night at the Starland Ballroom in Manhatten after the Damageplan & Shadows Fall show..... he was absolutely miserable today when I called him. He said it was like loosing a finger and trying to play guitar again. I'm just glad the scumbag that shot everyone got snuffed right there on the spot.

As a species, the human race can be quite disappointing at times....:angry2:

Also killed in the shootings were Erin Halk, 29, a club employee who loaded band equipment; fan Nathan Bray, 23; and Jeff Thompson, 40, who was affiliated with the band.


Two others were hospitalized. The nature of their injuries was not disclosed.


The guitarist's brother, Vinnie Paul Abbott, the drummer for Damageplan, was rushed to safety offstage and tearfully tried to learn his brother's fate from officers who couldn't even tell him which hospital he was taken to.

At least the cop got him before he killed anymore.
