Safe undersized cut for rods and mains.

What is a " safe" measurement ( under size) on rod and main journals ?
Example. .020 on rods and .010 on mains.
This is for a " hot" street motor.
Any difference for forged vs. cast ?

Only your machine shop will no for sure.
 
They make bearings up to .060 that I'm aware of. I'd run them and never think about it. Most crank kits you get come with anything from standard to .030. Cast or forged, I'd run hell out of it.

Consider this. When people turn down the mains on a 440 to go in a 400, that's a .125" cut. I wouldn't sweat it.
 
The machine shop, he's the man. The most knolagable will have been doing this for decades. 500 Cadi ofset .300. 360 with 318 mains, thats .310 off.
