Guys,

I'm looking purchase a trans and flex-plate shield for my big block tranny and wanted to now what type of fitment issues I could have with the trans tunnel?

I am looking at the either Hughes or TCI

Anyone have any input on this?

Thanks,

Rob

I had a very hard time with the tranny shield on my Duster with a 904, and it was originally a 4 speed car so the tunnel was bigger. I had to make aluminum blocks 1" thick to lower the shield to get it to fit because you can't modify the shield and the flex plate shield, forget about it.

I bought the CSI carbon fiber shield and it fits tight to the trans. I only had to make a short strap to move the dipstick out a little and clearance the shift lever to clear the shield in park.

the aluminum shields are pretty much the same...the CSI carbon fiber shield is really nice...have one on a 71 dart with a 904....and it is a tight fit....same adjustments had to be made...
