Does anyone know what size bolts I need to bolt the flex plate to the crank on my 340 ? I have the converter bolts but forgot all about the flex plate. Are they 7/16" -20, .500" long ?

I don't know off hand, I could probably find out but they are special bolts. The heads are thinner than standard bolts of that size would be, same with the flex plate to converter bolts.

Wonder if the converter bolts will work ? I'll give them a shot.

I always forget about the dealer. I'll try them in the morning.

The race converters use the same thread and size as the flex plate to crank bolts (and they are 7/16 fine thread grade 8 bolts), but the heads are even thinner. I've ground the heads down on flex plate to crank bolts to use for converter bolts before.

It's really time consuming though and can be dangerous if you don't have a way to properly hold the bolts so I don't suggest doing it this way. If you do, you do so at your own risk.

I'll just wait and pick some up in the morning. No reason to rush now. Thanks G.J.
