sb oil pump gasket needed or not?

is the oil pump gasket needed or a good idea on a sb?

It depends on the pump and main cap surface. I put mine on the mill and clean them up so they are flat, and do not use a gasket. Some are pretty bad, and if you dont want to put them on a mill, then yes use the gasket DRY no RTV
