The dummy light wired to my oil sender unit is blinking and the only time it goes out is at high rpms. I have an oil gauge therefore I know there is oil pressure. Would it be safe to assume the sender unit is bad? If so I have another problem, the sender unit that is screwed onto the block has two screews where wires are attached unlike the factory single post unit. Any suggestions?

Yeah....you got the wrong sender! If you have good oil pressure (20lbs or more) at a hot idle using a live gauge, then the motor should be good. Just bring back the 2 wire unit and trade it for the correct 1 wire one.

I had the same problem. Turns out I had a sending unit for a gauge instead of for a light.
