SBP American Racing Outlaw

hey folks...gotta silly question here. I've got SBP outlaw1 on my car that don't have center caps. Got a new set of chromed center caps (push through) BUT when we installed them, the lugs are too close to the center cap - when we tried bolting the rims back on, we scraped the cap. There is very little clearance between the center cap and the bolt. Anyone have any ideas on how to do this without scraping the cap?

I seem to vaguely remember having this problem. Had to use a thin walled socket, like needsaresto said.
