Scamp or Valiant

I purchased a 1972 Valiant with Scamp decals. Is it a Scamp or a Valiant or is there no difference? They are listed as different models in a lot of parts lists. Thanks for your help.

in 1972 the Scamp is a 2 door and a Valiant is a 4 door.
The Scamp in really called a Plymouth Valiant Scamp
