In April of 2010, my brother Andrew Lee Erickson, passed away to a tragic car accident. He touched many peoples lives, and had a caring heart. He was a certified level 4 Chrysler technician and loved Mopars. The dealership that he worked at has decided to set up a scholarship for the C.A.P. or Chrysler Automotive Program in his name. The scholarship will fund a student attending the C.A.P. and will raise funds through entry fees. It is an all mopar car show with classic and modern cars.

The Car show will be Saturday, March 12 · 11:00am - 3:00pm.
It will be located at Allen Samuels Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram of Katy, 21777 Katy Freeway @ Mason Road

Information:

I received this email from Bill Denton this afternoon and wanted to pass it on to everyone -

"With so much going on this Fall/Winter in the way of car shows, new model launches, and everyone’s end of year schedules, we have decided that it would be best to hold our show in the Spring of 2011. Since our show will be open to ALL MOPARS past and present, we want to have enough time to adequately plan this event so that everyone is extremely satisfied with the outcome and thoroughly enjoys the show.

As most of you know, our 2011 show will have a much deeper meaning for all of us here at Allen Samuels in Katy, along with many of our friends and customers. In April of this year we lost a young, energetic Chrysler technician to an automobile accident. Andrew Lee Erickson was only 24 years young when he was taken from us so suddenly in the early morning hours of April 11, 2010.

Andrew came to me several years ago in search of a sponsorship for the Chrysler College Apprenticeship Program. He had grown up around our incredible Mopar vehicles, and all he wanted to do was work on them. I was very fortunate to have the means with which to assist Andrew throughout his college program. And even more so to have him work with our team and become such an integral part of our success. Andrew’s indelible smile and overwhelmingly positive attitude always made our day much, much brighter. Andrew loved and lived to work on anything Mopar. He had several modern and old school Mopar projects working all the time.

As a tribute to Andrew’s memory, The 2011 Allen Samuels of Katy ALL MOPAR Car Show will be dedicated to him. Each vehicle will pay a nominal entry fee as part of the show. The proceeds from the show will then be directed into a scholarship fund provided to the Chrysler College Apprenticeship Program at San Jacinto College. These funds will mark the beginning of the Andrew Lee Erickson Memorial Scholarship Fund. The scholarship will be available to select young men and women entering the Chrysler College Apprenticeship Program here locally at San Jacinto College.
