installing pro stock hood on 72 demon, looking for old school look, should i use rivets, screws or bondo/ fiberglas?

i am currently in the process of doing this, but i went a totally different route.
I cut the hood out and installed the scoop between the outer skin and the hood frame. I then popped a bunch of rivets and then filled over with fiberglass and now i am just snoothing everything out to make it look like a factory hood.

I will have to post up pics later, but i have not taken many during the process

hmmmm....., not a bad idea! if anyones looking for a dual snorkle demon scoop that bubbles and warps every year from pg classics , ive got one real cheap!

Rigger,

Please don't use rivets as they will eventually loosen and telegraph their location around the hood scoop. Use a 3M panel adhesive and bond the scoop to the hood. Lightly grind the scoop and hood mating surfaces before applying the panel adhesive.

Note: If you have to clamp the scoop to the hood to get a better fit it will take some creativity if you lack the proper clamps. Sometimes you can get away with duct tape to hold the scoop in place while the bonding adhesive sets.

Use a good quality filler and block sand after application of filler as deemed necessary.

A high build polyurethane filler primer should be used after the leveling process has been completed.

I hope this helps.

Good Luck!!

that sounds like a good idea, just waitin for scoop to show up from speedway motors, thanks for the ideas
