I have a tote full of seat belts I got in a parts lot. Don't have any idea what is what. Most have the chrysler number on them but not having much luck figuring out what they are from them. they have the year on them and have another number after that like 1967-4 or 1967-1 , 1967-3 or 1967-3. Any idea what that number stands for??????

It might be for the 1st, 2nd etc quarter of the model year?

Weird.
I just pulled some out of 67 car (not molested) that say 1969 when I looked at them.
Whatever that is. I don't think it's a year of Mfg..

I recall that there is a recommendation that if a car is in an accident the seat belts should be replaced Would explain 69 belts in a 67, any signs of an accident?

1967-4 or 1967-1 , 1967-3 or 1967-3
1967-4 would indicate 4th quarter (Oct Nov Dec) of 67 meaning for a 68 model year
1967-1 would indicate 1st quarter (Jan Feb Mar) of 67 meaning could be for a 67 or 68 but most likely 67 model year
1967-3 would indicate 3th quarter (Jul Aug Sep) of 67 meaning for a 68 model year

As I recall model year ends in June and starts in July (someone correct me if i'm wrong here)

I'll look at the labels to be sure I'm not hallucinating.
It struck me as odd.

There is no way these seat belts were changed.
I've pulled this car completely apart (including a cowl replacement) and know it was all "original"
No signs of any damage, ever.

I looked at my belts, 3 tags left. The car was my dads he ordered and bought new in Feb of 67, the 3 tags say 1966-4 which fits perfectly for a Jan / Feb manufactured 67 model year car. I know the belts are OE to the car, I have been riding in it since I was 5!

I need to correct.
After further investigation and thought it appears the front seat belts were changed with 1969 ones.
I suspect a PO did so as some later parts are on the 67 car's drive train like a 489 case 4 speed and engine. (block casting)
Why he chose to change the front belts is a mystery.
The rear's are original.
The 69 front ones show age and certainly were in the car a while.
It was last on the road in the 80s.
