[Found!] Seeking 3.55 Ring & Pinion for an 8 1/4" rear end.

As the title says I have a 8 1/4 rear end and I'm looking for a 3:55 Ring & pinion. I don't mind if it's used as long as it usable. If you have one you're willing to part with please hit me up with a price shipped to 92886.

I took a set out of a Dakota pick up truck once at the local U pull it for a buddy of mine. Just another option

just an FYI, there's two different carriers. the 2.76 and up units and the ones below that. so if you've got the freeway flyer 2.45's and want to upgrade you'll need the whole encharito.

yep, thanks I currently have a the bigger carrier with the 3.23 and I'm struggling between going with the 3.55 or stepping up to either the 3.73 or 3.90...
Its will be behind my 392stroker w/46RH trans, at the moment I'm doing 60'ish at 1700rpm.. lol

Works well, only issue is if you ever change the ring and pinion jeep uses 10 bolt ring gear and mopar 12

The Mopar and Jeep 8¼" use the same basic gears. Both have 10-bolt ring gears, but some of the newer stuff uses metric bolts as opposed to the old 3/8". Richmond and Motive dual-drill some of their ring gears for both bolt sizes.

The 8¾" axle uses a 12-bolt ring gear.

I'm on the fence and not sure which gear set to run lol. I found this on the Holley website "The 46RH and 46RE both use the same gear spread as the old A727 but with a 0.69 overdrive. This makes for a great highway combination since this 31 percent overdrive will soften a 4.10:1 rear gear down to the equivalent of a 2.82:1 rear gear ratio. Combined with a lockup converter, this would make an excellent street transmission." Holley 46rh/46RE
So now I'm spun-out on which gear set to use... ugh

lolz, just another battle scar. the taco can take it and nuthin' a little 2x4 and BFH didn't straighten right back out, sorta. the important part is nobody was hurt and we have a good story from it!

Well that cleared it up for me, thank you looks like I'm on the hunt for a 4.10 gear set now... lol
