seeking information on my manual valve transmission...

put it in first gear, take off, let up on the throttle, if trans slows the car down its low band is on.

I would hate that, so nice to creep around the gas stations in first gear, speed up and have the engine go right back to idle without slowing the car down...you just need to have lots of self control to never to punch it open in first gear unless the car is stop or just taking off

I prefer low band apply. When you let off the gas it acts like you have a manual transmission and allows engine braking. I have a non low band apply sitting in my shop that I removed for the following reason. Say you have to slow down for rr tracks or a stop light then you have to be careful with the gas and play catch up to the vehicle speed.

Yeah but with a looser converter and 4.10/3.91 gears, 2nd gear is very useful once you are moving along. In parking lots I love my no band apply, engine can idle after you speed up a bit...braking is no problem cause you aren't moving too fast. Its 2nd and 3rd gear where engine braking is more useful
