Hey guys i am looking for an installation kit for my Hurst V-Gate 2 Inline Shifter. It is part # 373-8180.

I have a 68 Barracuda Coupe:
-440 engine
-833 A body 4 spd
-Lakewood Bellhousing
-CenterForce Dual Friction Clutch & 10 1/2" Pressure Plate

I thought I would try FABO first and then go to Hurst. To be honest I have been having trouble getting any response back from Hurst about the kit. Anyone have any similar experiences?

Layson's didn't buy Hurst did it? LOL

You may be SOL. Tried the Hurst website (hurst-shifters.com) and downloaded the pdf file but couldn't read it (Acrobat 3). However, there was only one listing for an installation kit for your shifter. Went to Summit and they listed only one kit part number 3738182 but it was for B and C bodies. Jeg's doesn't have anything for a real car but lots of stuff for Blowties and Ferds. Would check Brewer's if I was you. If no luck there, you are SOL. Sorry 'bout that....

i hate to burst your bubble,, but i think hurst/mr gaget stop doing a lot of older shifter linkage,,including the V-GATE,, but they may of reissued it,, also i think the site is called racing junk.com ive never been there but you may want to check,,, hope this helps,,,

and jegs does have real car parts,, you have to ask,, they dont list them,,, why i have no clue,, i recently placed an order,, was woring on my dodge early hemi, and they had some things summmit didnt,,didnt apply to any manufracturer,,,, but sumit listed the mopar stuff i did need jegs didnt,,, i asked the guy at jegs your not going to make me go to sumit for mopar stuff are you?? he didnt have it in stock,,,said he would back order it,,, sent it for free,,4 days later,,, and matched the lower price,,

I did find a supplier for the exact part # that I need. I am just waiting to hear back from him. Its been 2 weeks and I thought maybe I could look here. Can stock rods be modified?
