Any of you ever shipped a windshield or a rear window? How much of a hassle is it? :?
The reason i am asking is because i have been parting out a 70 Fury Grande coupe and a guy just contacted me about the windshield and rear window. He asked if i would ship it and that he would gladly pay for it.I asked him if he would be able to pick it up because i really don't want to ship it.I'm waiting to here back from him.
So anybody have any ever dealt with glass shipping?

Scamp,

I've heard nothing but bad stories about shipping windshileds. They have no strength utill they are installed and that poses a problem for shipping.

Even SMALL windshields, (a buddy of mine shipped a Triumph Spitfire w/s) have a problem. He used UPS, made his own padde and supported crate, and STILL wound up with a crack. It appears he's still fighthing with the insurance.

hth,
Jim

Thanks for your input. That's what i was afraid of,i kinda of figured it wouldn't take much to crack it.
